Winter 2013 Barcelona, Spain
In an apartment in the barrio of Gracia, we first discovered the soothing calm of Linden Tea, Tila, as it’s called in Spain. Our landlord suggested it after mentioning feeling worn out after a chilly winter day out. Refreshingly mild, with a hint of sweetness, it was instantly comforting. Tila became our elixir for calm, a quiet companion during our days living in a foreign country.
Spring 2025 San Francisco, Bay Area, California
Fast forward to a time of transition in our lives, a period when nothing seemed to sooth us. We remembered Tila tea, and decided to give it a try, only to find that it was nowhere to be found except at a few Latin grocers. That evening, upon steeping a cup, we felt the familiar calm we had first experienced in Barcelona. It became a ritual once again, in the evening, in the morning, or during the day when we needed a quiet moment for ourselves. And so, the idea to share Tila tea with others was born. We hope it can offer you a small pause, a gentle invitation to reconnect with yourself, even if just for a few minutes.
